It is typified by heavy socks, outdoor boots, flannel or thick shirt, jeans or khakis, and a sweater or insulated parka. You can also use these in cold weather environments while helping your friends move heavy stuff from storage. Rugged casual are not meant for wear in the office.Smart casual is intended for informal occasions but with an upper-class type of environment, similar to having an informal dinner in an upscale restaurant. Males would wear dress trousers, long-sleeve shirts with a tie, patterned or semi-colored socks. A sports coat is optional. Females would wear slacks or skirts, blouse, and possibly a jacket or sweater with mid-heel or flat shoes. Do not wear jeans when asked to dress smart casual.Dressy casual is a step away from formal. It is similar to smart casual but the attire is more dressy and elegant. The fabrics are of the more expensive type. Females will wear additional flashy or expensive accessories with their attire. Men would definitely have a jacket or sport coat as part of the attire. The dressy casual is expected for casual weddings.The business casual is the only category for business attire. If the company does not have any specific dress code or standard uniform, you are expected to be in business casual attire. The business casual category is somewhere within the levels of smart casual and dressy casual. The clothes must reflect the business personality in a professional manner. It should be neat, crisp, presentable, and appropriate for business meetings.One of the murkier dress codes, men are given the option of either wearing a tuxedo or a dark suit and a tie. Because men are given the option of dressing in a more casual manner, the dress code is more open for women too, who can wear anything from a long dress to a cocktail number. Think of it like this—you aren’t expected to go all out as if you were attending the Oscars, but this dress code stills call for formal attire.Creative black tie is the dress code that allows you to have fun. Men, for instance, should feel free to wear a black shirt or a red bow tie. Women are similarly encouraged to take their look less seriously.Still confused? Think of creative black tie as trendy black tie. Also, oftentimes creative black tie is the expectation at theme parties with a dress code of 1920s Black Tie or Texas Black Tie, and in those cases, choose a dressy look that works with the theme. For instance, with a dress code that calls for Texas Black Tie a man would be dressed appropriately in a tuxedo and cowboy boots, and a woman could don a gown and a cowboy hat.The dress code suggestion at many daytime semi-formal events (particularly work lunches and conferences), this dress code calls for a suit and tie for the guys and a tailored dress or a pantsuit for women. The idea is to wear something business appropriate, that also feels dressed up.Most offices have a dress code that calls for business casual. For women, pants and a blazer or a pencil skirt and a fun blouse, is the way to go. Guys can wears slacks or chinos and a collared shirt. Absolutely no jeans or sneakers.Dark skinned girls should steer clear from browns and blacks, plus colors on the cool end of the spectrum, like blues, gray and silver. If a color is too close to their skin tone, it just won’t flatter as much. Cooler colors are harsher on dark skin, can bring out gray undertones and can even make your skin look yellow… which in turn will make you look sickly. Girls with medium skin should stay away from browns, beiges, caramel, oranges and very pale pastels in any hue. Pastels and other light hues will be too cool against your skin and can bring out gray undertones. Gray is just not something you want in your complexion. Instead, you want colors that will bring out the warmth in your complexion.
